MPs to ask Guergis to appear before committee, but no date set

OTTAWA - A Parliamentary committee will ask Helena Guergis to come in for a grilling - but it's not known yet if the embattled ex-cabinet minister will accept the invite.

Nor has a date been set for Guergis' appearance at the committee on government operations and estimates.

"We're checking with her when would be the best moment for her to appear," committee clerk Marc-Olivier Girard said Friday.

Guergis' lawyer, Howard Rubel, declined to comment when contacted by The Canadian Press.
