Three government ministers offered less than fulsome answers today about their contacts with Rahim Jaffer, former Conservative MP and now, party pariah.
It began with Human Resources Minister Diane Finley. She was asked whether Jaffer had any dealings with her office.
"I have, I have, I haven't seen Rahim in a couple of years," she replied.
Transport Minister John Baird was no more forthcoming about whether he and Jaffer talked business when they dined together in recent months.
"No," he told the CBC's Rosemary Barton, then added: "I don't think so."
And, Industry Minister Tony Clement was asked about recent Liberal assertions that his office received emails directly from Jaffer.
"If you're referring the question in the House of Commons, it must have to do with Fed Dev Ontario, which is a branch of Industry Canada, but I think Gary Goodyear has already answered those questions," he said in a scrum after an announcement about the government's Computers for Schools program.
