omg lol. I was asleep and it woke me up! I live on the 4th floor in a tall building and the first thought that came to my mind was that the building was going to crumble. haha. i hopped out of bed while the shaking was still happening and i wanted to run outside, but i was naked :P. just stood there for the next 5 seconds or so an then it stopped. IT was scary and awesome. Firtst Earthquake ive ever felt. Ill add that i feel like a wooss. People on the west coast would probably laugh at me for even raising an eyebrow at such a lame little quake :P.

That sounds like my first (and only) earthquake experience. I've never lived near an earthquake zone in my life, but we were living in far north eastern BC and felt a shallow 8.3 in Alaska. I was pregnant and started to feel nauseous and thought something was very wrong because I felt like I was tipping over! Then my at-the-time dh called out from the lower floor to ask me if I felt that. I was so relieved at first that it wasn't ME that was having a problem I wasn't scared. The hanging pots and plants were swinging away and it was hard to walk. It lasted for quite some time (longer than a minute). I just thought it was so cool I experienced an earthquake, having never lived near a zone. I was pretty excited for a long time after, it sure gets the adrenaline going.

2. Camping in N Ontario here |

We felt it. First thought it might be a tornado, everything was shaking and there was a deep, rumbling noise and the weather was ripe for a tornado. But when all the glass in the cupboard started bumping each other, I said, "I think we have an earthquake here."
No damage. Sure put everyone on high alert though. Best wishes to all.
