OTTAWA — Sources say Guy Giorno, who had been Prime Minister Stephen Harper's chief of staff since July, 2008, will reportedly step down by the end of the year.
Giorno recently became a father again and the Globe and Mail says he wishes to spend more time with his wife, son and newborn daughter.
Giorno is credited with bringing increased organizational discipline to the Prime Minister's Office but he also been the focus of much criticism.
Some of that criticism is reportedly from within the government's ranks, as the Conservatives have squandered a 10-point lead in the polls.
