Voters are “sick of the elites and artsy people,” running politics, says Don Cherry, the outspoken hockey commentator and Mayor Rob Ford’s “special guest” at next week’s inaugural council meeting.
“I’m happy — it seems things are shifting around a bit to the right, with Julian Fantino getting elected, and Rob,” Cherry said.
“People are sick of the elites and artsy people running the show. It’s time for some lunch pail, blue-collar people.”
“I didn’t know either of them personally but the one thing I knew is Rob talks like the guy that I am . . . Rob speaks the people’s language and I think that’s why he got elected.’

Don Cherry re-signs with HNIC
Fear not hockey fans, Grapes will be back this season.
CBC Sports personality Don Cherry, who co-hosts Coach's Corner with Ron MacLean, has inked a new deal with Hockey Night in Canada.
Financial details of the contract weren't made public but it is believed to be a multi-year deal with a raise in salary. Cherry was reported to have earned $700,000 on his previous contract.

So before 2002 his contract was estimated at $700,000 a year. Just a typical "lunch box" amount.
It is now 2010. The CBC employs him while I and you pay for his salary, while he goes around supporting the government!
Typical "Tea Party" groupie. Don Cherry should disappear.
