New Democrat MPs are ready and raring to go. They’re buoyed after a two-day caucus meeting here. They say they can hardly wait until Parliament resumes on Monday.
“This New Democratic team is going to fight,” interim leader Nycole Turmel declared Thursday as her caucus cheered and hooted.
But what exactly they’ll do with all of this energy remains disturbingly uncertain.
The party faces two difficult problems. The first is that, ironically, they now have less leverage in the Commons than they did before the May election.
