3. I was hoping for the chance... |
|
... to post this link. I can't really find a valid reason, so, I'll just post it anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_-Ukgzr7kAh, the Tory party at play.

5. I fear that Mr. B'Stard is a little too left wing for today's Tory party |

An Orange-Booker, perhaps?

7. But if they get any more right wing... |
|
... they'll end up here! http://youtu.be/tTXhez2mNmM(I chose this clip in full knowledge of Godwin's Law, also Musso's corporatism is not a million miles from what the Tories want now)

9. Actually in the play based on the series... |
|
he ended up as supposedly New Labour.
Maybe Alan B'Stard is really Alan Milburn.

Right at the moment, the Right seem to HATE the disabled. They seem to be in a tight competition with the immigrants for the Gold Medal in the RW Hatestakes.
The Newsthump article does indeed make as much sense as the real version!
And anyone who can get to the right of *Edward Leigh* needs to be careful not to fall off the right-hand side of what he probably considers as the flat earth!

6. It's more that they find the disabled to be an anomaly... |
|
...disability doesn't always fit in with some of their worldview.
Right now their big hatred is more for the poor and people who work in the public sector from what I've seen.

8. Yes, it's always the poor first and foremost... |

And yes, the public sector workers; the trade unions; people who live in the North of England or in Scotland; single parents; anyone and anything connected with the EU; etc. And anyone who needs help and can't or won't 'stand on their own feet'
I suppose the hatred for disability comes to a large extent out of the hatred for poor people, and those who need help (they don't seem to have such hostility to the minority of disabled people who are well-off). The Right have a big thing at the moment about going back to dividing poor people into the Deserving and Undeserving Poor, and are clearly trying to classfiy most into the latter category. Disability makes this difficult, so they try to present disabled people wherever possible as either faking it, or cossetted weaklings who should be deprived of their benefits for their own good!
Many right-wingers act like playground bullies grown up - part of being successful is to spit on the smaller kids, knock them down, and grab their lunch money; they deserve it for not being as tough as you are!
