Looking for cheap airfare... |
|
I'm a bit desperate for a flight back home to Michigan for the holidays. Does anyone know anywhere where I could get a cheap flight from Tokyo to Michigan? I've got a bit of a crisis on my hands that I need to take care of around the holiday season.
Thanks in advance for any help I get.

1. Three options I can think of |
|
1. If you live near a USO, they can often find really cheap airfares. 2. Expedia.com sometimes has great bargains 3. Go to the air carriers web site. Even if it's not the cheapest, it gives you an idea of what the most the ticket should cost
***United is often cheap. Unfortunately, you suffer for it. It's why I don't fly US carriers

2. NW/Delta has non-stops to Detroit |
|
Look in the Japan Times or Tokyo Metro for the ads from the discount travel agencies.
They work by having a standing agreement with the major airlines to buy a block of tickets on days when passenger loads are typically low. They then make up fictitious "tours" to get the tour group price. NW used have at least one such flight a week. I don't know if Delta has continued the practice.
It may be difficult to find a really cheap flight for the holidays, but maybe not if you start now.
