http://www.tribe.netand register. Its a good place for networking and they have a couple of groups that deal with working overseas. You can just do a search there and find those groups. Hope this helps.

Any place that close to the US which has managed to defeat all efforts at restoring a Bastista like regime can't be all bad.

Maybe nothing is worse than the Bush Evil Empire of former Nazis in Latin America.
But having a revolutionary who kinda sold his soul to the Stalinists (and the Stalinists having been BFEE/Rockefeller/Morgan puppets too) does not give me LOTS of confidence.
But I have considered it.
Believe me.
I and my family have healthcare needs.
Being in a socialist country where our health and sociocultural needs were met would be pretty different. It might even be special.

dual citizenship. That way, if things get back to normal, you haven't lost anything.
Try Austria. I hear that there are a few "dual citizens" from there. At least one, I think.

|
no, austria has (1) wicked immigration laws and (2) a requirement that you give up your citizenship in order to get theirs, plus (3) if you're young enough they put you into compulsory military service once you get citizenship. besides, you're up on the holocaust, what on earth do you want to sit next to the old-fart nazis in the streetcar for????
to be fair, if you overcome these hurdles, it's a great place. safe. great to raise kids, provided you don't get one of the old farts for a teacher.

How about going to Belgium? I love Belgium and there are a number of prospective employers. Lots of international organizations and the like, which sounds like something that could be for you given your background. And to top it off, they have the best beer I've ever had.

Didn't they have an international war crimes law too?
Maybe I could prosecute the BFEE! (Although I am a defense attorney by natrure since the "justice system" (aka the "just us" system") sucks entirely.

The war crimes tribunal is in the Hague, but they probably have something dealing with that in Brussels too.

Why does this happen every four years? "If Reagan, Bush, Dubya is elected, I will go into exile..."
Ask this question AFTER the election, first try to win... Bleeping defeatist...
"16 years in Japan...and hating it..."

Try a couple of these organisations with good reputation. http://www.rb.se/eng/ (save the children) http://www.humanrights.se/svenska/sv-lankar2.htm (bunch of links) etc. etc. You are most welcome to Stockholm - but could probably do more good where you are!

I'm a teacher in Thailand, and can tell you now it's not the place you're looking for- though you could probably get work here. Japan- not much opportunity in your field, I think. That pretty much rules out Asia. Good luck.

hey, i see your point, but everywhere else you go you'll find crappy governments as well and people that want to emigrate to the us (well not as many as before but still, alot).
and besides, i say: just stay home and get to work!! the country needs human rights activists now more than ever.

and I understand seventhson on this. I don't want to stay in the US if they steal another election.
Come to think of it, If they actually win, I'll probably want to stay even less. It's frightening that he has so much support. I've recently realized just how seriously deluded some of his supporters are, and how much they hate us.
The U.S. is a country undergoing a serious identity crisis and I'm not at all confident that the forces for good will win.

The government is one thing, but to live amongst people who support this government is another. I just can't believe what shallow, stupid, hateful people comprise "mainstream" America.
