The American peace activist deported from Australia after being assessed as a risk to national security has asked the Federal Court to quash the decision.
Lawyers acting for Scott Parkin, 36, have lodged documents with the court seeking to quash ASIO's decision to provide an adverse security assessment to the department of immigration.
Lawyer Keren (Keren) Adams from the firm Maurice Blackburn Cashman said the firm had taken the case in the public interest and would seek access to ASIO's confidential security assessment.
She said the case was listed for February 9 next year.
