Maxine McKew is the preferred member for Bennalong |
|
In a poll of 800 eligible voting constituents in the Republic of Bennalong 52% said that they would vote for Maxine McKew. It looks to me that "Mean & Tricky's" days are numbered.
As much as I would love to see Labor trounce the coalition in the next election, I was extremely disappointed with Labor because they didn't make a bigger deal of the fact that they only had 24hours to study the 500page legislation in regards to the Aboriginal "crisis". If it was so urgent to put through parliament, why wasn't it done 11 years ago?
I truly feel that because the coalition attained control of both houses of parliament in the last election, it was the beginning of the end for them. It just goes to show that if you give them enough rope, they will hang themselves.

1. It's almost unthinkable, |

but wouldn't it be wonderful if Howard couldn't even hold his own seat?
I like Maxine McKew, she's a very smart lady, and I admire her for not going for a safe Labor seat.

2. If Maxine unseats Howard, what an amazing feat. |
|
I heard that the Labor party are just making her earn her chance to get a seat. They felt that he wasn't going to be unseated, but could be distracted if he got nervous about his chances. This would make him have to spend much more time saving his own arse and not be available to campaign in the marginals. Go Maxine, do it for us. As a side chuckle, can you imagine the party room meeting if the Libs scraped back but without the gimp. Would it be Abbott & Costello, Downer and even further. Who knows. My guess is Costello and ?
