How many people would vote for a leader |
|
who displays strong signs of paranoia, with antisocial and schizoid tendencies?
Well, Australians did when they voted for John Howard.
Just for fun, I did a Jungian Personality Test using what I perceive to be John Howard's major characteristics, and this is what I came up with:
Paranoid: (82%): tends to interpret the actions of others as threatening.
Antisocial: (74%): shows a pervasive disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others.
Schizoid: (66%) Detached from social relationships, and shows a narrow range of emotional expression in various social settings.
And we have to live with this for the next three years!

|
that I think can make yours like the brother we all wish we had.

2. I'm still trying to work out his demographic.... |
|
It seems that a lot of young people voted for the regressives. The old people are dead and the sixties (1960) generation think he's full of shit. It should get interesting now that they have "control" of both houses. I'm predicting that enough backbenchers will keep the bastards honest. But then again, maybe that's optimistic.

4. It was the middle-income earners with a mortgage that did it, IMO. |
|
Can't count the number of times I've heard that - so many people are in over their heads, they're terrified they'll lose their house if interest rates go up. Doesn't seem to occur to them that in the natural course of events, interest rates will go up sometime.
Human rights violations, lying, unjust wars, racism, the polarization of our society, the rights of workers to fair wages and conditions, equality in education and health care and care of the environment don't amount to a hill of beans for these people.
Don't get me started ....

5. Ya know what is stupid with that line of thinking? |
|
They should be worried about losing their house, but firstly, they should be more worried about losing their damn jobs.
Workers do not have a leg to stand on anymore. Can't get a baby sitter? Tough shit, come to work or get fired! Wife is in hospital? Tough shit, come to work or get fired.
This country has gone to hell in a hand basket!
Like you said, don't get me started either! LOL

7. A Coward supporter's response would be: |
|
"SHUT UP! You don't know what you're talking about!"
"At least it's not that horrible Mark Latham!"
"John Howard won the election, stop complaining!"
*sigh* why is it suddenly a rule that if you win an election, you are free from criticism? I swear Coward's supporters are like a damn cult!

8. I'll make a bet with you - |
|
when Howard sells off Telstra and we get timed local calls, it's suddenly going to be very hard to find anyone who voted for John Howard.

9. Once upon a time I would've agreed with you |
|
but unfortunately the last 9 years have proved that everytime the bastard does something bad, the corporate media will be there to pad over it and make him look like a hero.
Call me a depressing pessimist, but he will overcome any negativity.
