Worried about FL in Nov-Why does FL have an Interim SOS?

We all recall how ole Jeb set Kathryn Harris to work to get his brother elected. Yesterday I read:

Needless to say, I was a little worried and I decided to look up who was FL SOS- found out they have an Interim SOS. Anyone know what's going on?
