Has anyone read any of Christopher Moore's books? |
|
Yesterday, at the local library branch, I saw a copy of Moore's latest novel, "You Suck!". The provocative title interested me, I looked at the dust jacket blurb (a woman, who's a vampire, turns her boyfriend into a vampire) and decided to check it out. And I'm reading it and...why haven't I read any of Christopher Moore's books before?? He's hilarious...I don't know how to describe his writing style...sort of a twisted Carl Hiaasen. If that makes sense.
Is anyone else familiar with Christopher Moore? If so, what other of his books should I read?
Thanks much in advance.

Christopher Moore has a sick, twisted mind. I love his books.

Hilarious and touching at the same time. I also liked the idea that Jesus was a composite of the best of Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism.

4. I'm on a Moore kick currently myself |

Just finished Bloodsucking Fiends, the prequel to You Suck.
I've also read Lamb, Fluke, A Dirty Job, and Practical Demonkeeping. All are hilarious and thought-provoking. My wife is hooking me up with the other novels. But I agree Lamb is the best of the bunch so far.

5. I love Christopher Moore! |

Also check out his Christmas story, The Stupidist Angel. Read it after the other books since it follows up on some of the same characters.

My all time favorite is "Island of the Sequined Love Nun". How can you go wrong with a title like that? He's hilarious with a large dose of heart.
