Finished "The Confessions of Max Tivoli" this evening. It really had an emotional effect on me. Both Max and Hughie will stay with me for a long, long time. I feel emotionally wrung-out right now. I certainly hope the next book I read will keep me as intrigued as this one did. It's difficult to finish something that is so thoroughly enjoyable - like saying goodbye to an old friend. Sigh.

1. I know what you mean. I slow down alittle sometimes when reading a |
really good book. I dont' want it to end. when it does and I close the book I feel alittle sad.

3. I would love to see a movie version of this ... |
only hope it falls into the right hands so that the integrity of the story remains true to the writing.

6. I know exactly what you mean--hard to finish some books when you |
grow close to the characters. I read Max Tivoli also, but had to stop a minute and remember it. Yes, it was quite a read. He was a marvelous character.
