Regardless of what everyone else thinks, I will support 'The Serge!" |
|
That would be 'Serge A. Storms' of course.
If any of you travel a lot and just need a book to get you through that 3-hour flight, or just need a book to shut your brain down before you go to sleep, then I strongly suggest any book by Tim Dorsey. Go to any bookstore and they will have them all.
Sure Serge is a serial killer, but deep down he is a really, really good person. You will just have to trust me on this one.
"Nobody, but nobody writes likes this guy." - Miami Herald
"Imagine the violence of Eda Buchanan married to the skewed worldview of Dave Barry. Now you're ready to meet Tim Dorsey." - Booklist
"Tim Dorsey is Carl Hiaasen on meth, Elmore Leonard on acid, Dave Barry on Drano." - San Diego Union-Tribune
I read Michael Cunningham "The Hours" which I loved, but when I finished it and picked up Tim Dorsey's new book I felt like I was coming back home.

1. I loved 'Cadillac Beach' |
|
The plotting was so intricate, and tied up so beautifully.
Plus: hilarious.

2. I've read all of them. |

Absolutely hilarious. Tim Dorsey must be a lot of fun in person.

3. I want to like Dorsey's books |
|
But I've given every one of them a try and can't make my way through them. I can't quite point to any one reason, but he loses me fairly early on.
