Has anyone read "The Terror" |
|
It's on hold for me at library but I just discoverd it has over 700 pages. Is it worth it?

Yes, I've read it and it is excellent. Damn, I didn't realize it was that long. Somehow that doesn't sound right (but I'm in my office and can't check at the moment).

2. Yes, that's the author. |
|
It must be good if you didn't notice how long it was. I hate lugging around a heavy book. I put up with The Illiad because it's so wonderful and written in poetry form.

What are you? Eleven? It's only a few hundred pages.
It's so exciting that by the end you'll wish there were more pages.

8. I just goggled Dan Simmons. I'm surprised that I have not read |
|
any of his books. But I will now. Matter of fact, "The Terror" is 784 pages.

I just went out and bought it yesterday. See what you made me do! I'm a bookaholic and I can't help myself! Maybe I could surrender myself for treatment at the NY Public Library.

There should possibly be a 12-step program for people like us. I have to say, however, that I did enter a Barnes & Noble store on Friday and purchased NOTHING. The store is closing and most of the shelves were emptied out and on the 50% off tables. I have stacks here that I need to read first. I have to say that it did hurt, however, to deny myself.

13. Sh-h-h-h, I took it back; too heavy. Will wait for PB version. |
|
Besides, just reading it make me feel cold.

14. I'm about halfway through |
|
Sometimes there's a book I just want to stretch out, savor evey word, in no hurry to have it end. I'll read some, pause to go to something else, then go back. This is one of them.

15. I saw that at the librarythe other day but passed on it |
|
Mostly because I had so many other books. I swear I take out more books than I can conceivably get to in two weeks, considering I have a job and all.
