I just finished reading "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" for our book club as well as reading "The Vision of Emma Blau" along with it. I couldn't help but notice a few things that were similar between "Emma Blau" and "Memory Keeper". I read the author's conversation notes in the back of 'Memory Keeper' and notice that Ursula Hegi is one author that Edwards mentions reading and now I'm considering that Edwards may have (either consciously or unconsciously) lifted some core ideas from "Emma Blau". Without giving anything away from either book - have any of you here read both books and come away with the same feelings as well? It was purely coincidental that I happened to read these same 2 books at the same time. If I had read them at different times, I'm not sure if I would have noticed the similarities. Interesting.

2. Have you read "The Vision of Emma Blau" as well? |

I don't know that I would have picked up on the similarities had I not read the two almost simultaneously.
