I just finished reading Atonement... |
|
I cried two times and couldn't put the book down...
A wonderful book that everyone who seriously considers writing any fiction should read carefully and studiously...
The language just flows from the beginning right through the end...

1. I've heard such good things about the movie... |
|
One review said the book and the movie were really good, both of them...
Are you going to see the movie?
I'm planning on it...
The book sounds like it would suit me down to my toenails!
Maybe Costco has it...

2. Warning: Wikipedia contains spoilers!! |
|
I had just ordered it from the library and then googled it to see what it was about. I will still read it though. Sounds like a really good book. Thanx!

4. I read the book, was not happy with it, saw the movie - it was excellent. |
|
I highly recommend the movie.
It fixed the lously ending the book had. That alone is a good reason.
I'm recommending the movie over to book to anyone who wants to read the book. The book is too unbalanced for me to recommend it. I only recommend things written well.

5. I didn't like the book, either, and I had liked two other books of his, |
|
Amsterdam, which won the Booker Prize in 1998, and Enduring Love. It's good to hear that the movie is an improvement.
I had really looked forward to Atonement being released, but it never interested me as I was reading it. I kept thinking it would surely get better but it didn't. McEwan has written at least two novels since then but I haven't given them a go. "Once bitten, twice shy."

6. The Dunkirk scene was brilliantly written, but the general plot did NOTHING for me... |
|
I am not as experienced a reader of fiction as some people, but I'm glad to see others reacted as I did.

7. The ending infuriated me. I didn't realize the movie was different. Thanks! |
