One of the books I read off the NYT best 100 for 2008 |

was a book called Lush Life.
It was a wonderfully dense book set in the shadow of one of the bridges out of Manhattan. There is a crime, the over reaction to that crime, the people who take advantage, the cops who got it wrong and then get it right...
It's just a marvelous tapestry of a diverse section of New York City...
