I thought of this short story when I first saw the clip of Susan Boyle singing. It's about a music producer who dies and the devil gives him a wish so he goes back to his high school years to shtup the shiksa of his dreams.He finds himself at one of their after school party's and gets side tracked when the devil reminds him that it was after this party that one of his school mates, Teresa Golowitz, commited suicide. He plays the piano at these parties and discovers that ugly, awkard Teresa has a marvelous voice and saves her life as,it turns out, the devil planned all along.

This story is in "Devils and Demons: A Treasury of Fiendish Tales Old & New", selected by Marvin and Saralee Kaye; Doubleday & Co.,pub. 1987.

I highly recommend this book.
