Has anyone read books by J D Robb? |
|
Mysteries, it seems, and they get great reviews but I'd hate to pick one up and have it be....wrong (religious or conservative or something.)
Anyone?

1. Oh, she's not a conservative. |
|
J.D. Robb is a pen name for Nora Roberts, and she's well known in the online romance community for her progressive views. Her books under both names get high reviews.

3. I never heard she was a progressive |
|
but it doesn't surprise me. Makes me even more of a fan than I already was.

2. Nora Roberts, you mean? |
|
I happen to love the J.D. Robb books. Been reviewing them for years now.
Futuristic police procedurals. Fun stuff.

5. Like them better than Nora Roberts books |
|
but then I'm a big fan of both science fiction and mysteries, so it's kind of a twofer for me.
Her earliest books in the series have the whole "alpha male" thing going on that I frequently find annoying - Roarke is always Right, and Eve Dallas always fights it and then eventually agrees with him. But she's pretty kick-ass in her own right, so I put up with it. The later books have a more equal relationship.
I have recently found a few Nora Roberts books that I like, too, but I mostly just read the J.D. Robb persona books.
You might want to check out a "collaboration" between J.D. Robb and Nora Roberts called "Remember When" - the first half is a "Nora Roberts" book, the second a "J.D. Robb" book. Kinda cool, and it's interesting to see that, no, I'm not crazy, she really does write somewhat differently in the Robb persona.
