Just read The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao for book group |

Curious what other folks thought about this funny, heart-breaking, and challenging book. I loved all the sci-fi references, but was lucky to find a list of all the Spanish language quotes and references. Saved a lot of looking up.
It was very sad, though.

2. I thought it was fantastic right up until the last 30 or so pages |
|
Then it felt like the author just sort of gave up.

3. It's been a couple of years since I read it, so I may not remember exactly. |

I definitely enjoyed the book. But, IIRC, there was enough "magic realism" in it to sort of leave some questions open and alleviate any feelings of sadness.
