what is your favorite Barbara Kingsolver book?

It is a hard choice , but I must say Poisonwood Bible is my favorite , The Lacuna is a very close second.

... is a great book; I read it on vacation; what are some of Kinsolver's books which you all recommend; I know there are others I was tempted to get, but never have. (too many books, too little time syndrome)

And I'm enjoying it immensely. Kingsolver is one of the best authors I've come across in awhile.

A question: Is this a sequel or a prequel? The blurb for "The Bean Trees" at the back of the book makes me kind of wish I'd read "The Bean Trees" first.

Curiously enough, several times while at the library I've looked at "Poisonwood Bible," but the synopsis on the flyleaf never really appealed to me. Can't wait to check it out now.

7. Animal Vegetable Miracle

is a real challenge . I buy eggs from the farmer and pick local fruit and berries ,apples , blueberries, strawberries also asparagus and tomatoes, but after that it gets difficult. I buy chickens from a friend, not local to me but at least they aren't tortured their whole life.

9. Hard to say. Loved Animal Vegetable Miracle, but for her fiction works,

I really liked Prodigal Summer. Also, The Bean Trees, and Poisonwood Bible - I really need to re-read it. I was reading it at a tough time in my life so I haven't been able to pick it up again - too many memories.

I just finished The Lacuna and really enjoyed it but don't think it will become a favorite. Still trying to figure out why.

11. I am re- reading Poisonwood Bible

In my ltfetime I have known people like that family , especially the father.

I think I will probably re- read The Bean Tree and Prodigal Summer too because it has been a long time since I first read them.

I found the ending of The Lucuna disturbing , although it was the logical way to end it .

13. Poisonwood Bible kicks ass. I have enjoyed all of her books

that I have read, but PB was incredibly moving, masterfully written. I will also re-read it soon because I was blown away with it the first time I read it. So much so that I did not pass it on, it is one of my personal library books.

14. "Prodigal Summer" hands-down the best

of hers (for me anyway), and I've read all of her books. She's a favorite of mine.
