The Hannah Swensen mystery series is going to the dogs. SPOILERS BIG TIME. |
|
I just finished the last one, Devil's Food Cake Murder.
SPOILER coming up....
At the end of the book Norman, one of Hannah's boyfriends, tells her that his ex-fiancee and now business partner, Beverly, says Norman HAS to marry her if he wants to be part of his child's life. (She got pregnant when they were engaged and never told him anything about it.)
To me, this falls under "They wouldn't do that," category (my sibs and I used to say this in movies when something occurred which we didn't think the characters would do.) Norman wouldn't have to marry the woman. He could have a DNA test done and then hire him a good lawyer.
Too bad because I have enjoyed this series.

1. It makes me so sad when a favorite series lets me down |
|
It recently happened.
Hey Rac, you would love Daisy. The only trouble with the Charlie Moon/Doss series is the sad-looking books they're wrapped in - kinda small, printing is close, etc., but once you get into it.
There's sex, but Doss always closes the door. Swearing usually is funny the way it's done. Murders, and there are quite a few, are gruesome and original in method.
Going to read the 17th book when it comes out in Nov, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Overlook the crummy exterior and enjoy.
