Anyone here ever read the book "Feed"?

I'm finding it an excellent reflection of the absurdity of society.

1. I wish people would stop recommending

books. So now I've added that one to my hold list at the library. (Just a little irony here, don't take me seriously)

Really, there are so many good boos out there, and so little time to read them all. But I do look forward to getting this one and I'll try to remember to post what I think of it.

I have been noticing recently that some of the very best speculative fiction out there is being published as YA. A lot of it is quite amazing. I read The Hunger Games and was totally blown away.

2. just finished it.

Made me think about brain direct feeds in a whole different way.

I started thinking about being a "wire-head" back in the 80's! Then "chips" as time went on. Thought about the learning implications. Whether one would still have to actually BE intelligent enough to use the knowledge downloaded, you know?

But I never once thought about the commercial capitalist aspects of it. Silly me. Of course the almighty dollar is the most important thing, right?

Granted the "target market" of the book is teen lit, (I found it on my son's bookshelf) b ut interesting nonetheless.

3. Loved that book

Though it scared the hell out of me, because it didn't seem all that far-fetched.
