Daniel Silva ROCKS! I started with his first novel and have been completely enthralled through this most recent. He reminds me Le Carre, only because they both excel in this genre. Le Carre wove his tales through the Cold War period as Silva uses the Middle East and the oil wars.
If you haven't already, may I also suggest "The Marching Season"? Brilliant story revolving around Northern Ireland and "the troubles."
Cheers. And by the way, I also think Molly Ivins is a true Texas treasure.
