It was recommended by Kos. It is a good book and has some good insights into the Iraq War. It's not political at all but the observations from the ground level.

Still, if one wants to read a really powerful book on soldiers, Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried is the way to go. That book is wonderful, heartbreaking and touching as hell.
