Just bought a bunch of new books.... |
|
The new Vonnegut. Doris Goodwin's new book on Lincoln. The new Gregory Maguire (Son of a Witch - a sequel to Wicked). The new Al Franken. The new Margaret Cho.
Where to start?

1. The new Al Franken - however |
|
it starts with a recap of how his election day 2004 went (elation, perplexed, depressed) - it'll make you re-live that day your self (just a warning). Very funny, very detailed.
Keep the vonnegut in reserve if the first bit of the Franken bums you out.

I started reading it over lunch and I'm already a third through it. God, I love that man.

that will be soon. I have this habit of checking books out of the library and not reading the ones I own.

and I enjoyed it a lot.
I thought it was a very clever, imaginative take on the Oz stories.

7. Is Margaret Cho a comedian? |
|
If she is, I read something she wrote online about the right (about 2 years ago) and it was hilarious. Please let us know what the book's like.
Vonnegut & Wicked are going to be on my Xmas list. They sound like great holiday reading.
