I'm reading "Thieves in High Places" by Jim Hightower |
|
I love Jim's monthly newsletter, "The Hightower Lowdown." This book is similar to that only with more detail. Jim has a wonderful sense of humor that shows on every page of the book.
It will make you laugh & it will make you cry. The corruption, greed & total disregard that corporate CEOs & our politicians have for the 'little guy' makes me sick. The robber barons have taken over our country & most Americans are oblivious to it at this point.
So far, I highly recommend this book.

2. Jim is a stitch! I love how he uses humor in his writing. |
|
He makes his points but makes you laugh too. Which is good, cuz the subject matter -- how corporations are taking over our country (& world) with our government's help -- will make you cry.
One thing though, he is much more optimistic about 'the people' than I am. He believes that most people are aware of the current situation & that they are fed up. He travels extensively throughout our country, & bases his estimation on the people he meets. I wonder if that is the problem. The people who would go hear Jim Hightower ARE aware & concerned. What about the other millions who are shopping & can't even tell you the name of the vice president?
Are the American people aware that their elected government officials are doing the bidding of the corporations & not looking out for WE THE PEOPLE?
Your thoughts?
