I am, but I don't blame you it's so god-damn depressing. But if you want reality read it, it's not just our problem it's the whole world's problem... It is the most upsetting book I have ever read; but I'd rather be informed than ignorant. Armed Madhouse makes sense out of the chaos of Bush and Co..

4. Amazing piece of work

I think it should be required reading for every slack jawed, mouth breathing right wing nut who actually voted for the BFEE.

The really scary thing about the book was that we already knew how evil they were, or thought we did, and still, my eyes were opened in a major way by this book.

I URGE all DUers to read this book. Yes, it was extremely disturbing, but I would much rather know the truth than live in the dark.

9. Finally finished Armed Madhouse. It's kind of depressing, but no one can

say that Greg Palast doesn't have a sense of humor! I was aware of much of what he wrote about. Surprised by his take on 'peak oil' until the last chapter which made a lot of sense. The inter-connections of the 'players' made me think about all the comments and writing during the Whitewater Investigation nonsense....every RW'er was saying how 'shady' Clinton's Arkansas connections were! But the Republicans have much deeper interdependencies than anything in Arkansas! His chapter on what happened to voters (read minorities) before and during the 2004 election was great..wish I knew how we can stop 3 million votes getting 'tossed'. The chapter on how we're being driven to the bottom as workers through globalization and privatization is extremely sad to me, who grew up with the New Deal.

Wish everyone would read this book, along with 'Stealing Jesus' by Bruce Bawer.

10. I read it and donated it to my public library,

I thought everyone who could reason should read it. Palast always does a good job of exposing the corruption and criminality of the Bush/Cheney/Rove administration.

...would have kept going but I realized it was 1.00 am and I need a little bit of sleep in order to function at work....

I don't think it's depressing per se, true enough it is mind-blowing to see just how rotten the whole apple is, but it is more eye-opening than anything else...

Very informative, bone-chilling, and almost impossible to put down...
