I highly recommend this bio of Joe Strummer for all you Clash fans out there. It was a very insightful and honest account written by Chris Salewicz - a person who's known Joe as a friend since the early days of the Clash. Redemption Song: The Ballad of Joe Strummer

2. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did |

He was a really complex individual - much different then I suspected. He could be ruthlessly cold (like when he sack Topper Headon, Mick Jones, and his girlfriend/mother of his children), but he had this really compassionate kind side such that none of those people stayed mad at him too long.
It was a great story. What a great band!
