Just finished MAKING ROUNDS WITH OSCAR by David Dosa. |
|
I recommend this book. Dosa is an MD, a geriatrician. He works in an animal-friendly nursing home where Oscar, a cat, also resides.
Oscar, it seems, has an ability to detect when a patient's death is imminent, and keeps the patient company in their last hours. Dr. Dosa is at first skeptical about this, but is later convinced. Also there's a lot in the book about coping with a loved one's dementia.
