"A hilarious and horrifying memoir" was the way the LA Times described it. "As funny as it is twisted" says GQ. "It makes a good run at blowing every other memoir out of the water." WaPo. I laughed out loud and cringed. Though I'll stick with "Angela's Ashes" by McCourt as better. Anyone else read 'Running with Sissors'? My high school senior daughter (ouch!)gave it to me for my 60th birthday last Tuesday

My sis and I were in Italy and someone left a copy in a hotel and she kept laughing at me laughing at it.
Sadly, the movie version is awful.
Enjoy!

Painfully funny stuff. I agree that "Angela's Ashes" was better, but I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway.

3. The only thing better than reading it is listening to him read it aloud. |
