FidoCountry of origin: U.S.A
Genre: Comedy, Zombie, Time Piece (1950's)
Story: Fido takes place in the 1950's after the humans "won" the zombie war. Humans developed special collars which suppress a zombie's desire for human flesh. Zombies are bought and sold to act as slaves for humans. Whenever a person dies, their body automatically belongs to a corporation called ZomCom. People can be arrested for illegal burials. All burial rights must be purchased from ZomCom, which charges a lot of money, so only rich people can bury their dead. Everyone else is sold into zombie slavery.
The story follows a middle class family which just purchased its first zombie slave in order to
keep up with Joneses. Hilarity and social commentary ensue.
Acting: An excellent cast; Billy Connolly (Fido the Zombie), K'Sun Ray (the son and Fido's best friend), Carrie Anne Moss (the mother), Dylan Baker (the absent father), Tim Blake Nelson (new neighbor plus security chief at ZomCom), and Henry Czerny (a helpful neighbor who
really likes his zombie slave).
Humor: Dark humor and social commentary persists throughout this movie.
Violence: Very mild for a zombie movie, but a couple of people do get eaten.
Sex: Human+Zombie sex is suggested, but the movie has no nudity or sex scenes.
Overall: Awesome, one of the best zombie movies ever made.

I bought the DVD new for $10.88, it contains many special features, such a bloopers reel and a narrated video-comic book version of the movie. Purchase this movie immediately, if you don't have the money, resort to crime.
