1. The decade? It was MJ's best IMHO. That was some serious s**t |
|
in that cd. And Mike's voice was never better.

Edited on Thu Dec-17-09 06:59 PM by parasim
but Taylor Swift won TWO spots on that reader's poll.
on edit: I'm just kidding with you, Triana. I've been a huge MJ fan since I first saw the Jackson 5 live on the Ed Sullivan Show (MJ and I were born about a year apart). I always enjoy your posts.

7. I LOVE "Unbreakable," "Whatever Happens," "2000 Watts," and "Invincible." |
|
"Unbreakable" is my own personal little anthem. :)
Actually, I really like the whole album. "Butterflies" is just beautiful, and so is "Break of Dawn." "You Rock My World" is fun. I think "2000 Watts" would have been great on the Blood on the Dance Floor CD, don't you? I love Michael's harder-edged stuff the most.
I was surprised that I liked Invincible as much as I do. I didn't think I would be that crazy about the album because I'd heard some people talk shit about it, but it's one of those you really can listen to from beginning to end. WAY better than I expected. It's too bad Xscape didn't make it onto the album. Michael nixed it when it got leaked early. :( A shame. I think that would have been my absolute favorite song among the bunch.

17. People still talk shit about it... |
|
..but they're wrong. I've heard it defined as a "failure" (?!)
Since when is a PLATINUM album (in spite of Sony's and the industry's machinations to NOT promote the album) a "failure"?
Pfft.

19. VERY ignorant....and Invincible is Billboard's Best Album of the Decade |
|
I'd hardly call ANY of this "fading" . . . _ _ _ _ _
As 2009 is is rapidly coming to an end, Billboard has published its Decade End Charts. These rankings include everything from 2000-2009. Michael Jackson was ranked on several charts, including:
Top Catalog Album Artists – Michael Jackson - #1 Top Catalog Albums – ‘Number Ones’ - #10 Top Catalog Albums – ‘Thriller’ - #14 Top Catalog Albums – ‘The Essential Michael Jackson’ - #48 Digital Songs Artists – Michael Jackson - #26 Digital Album Artists – Michael Jackson - #2
Michael Jackson was the King of Billboard's 2009 Year End Charts. Michael was ranked on multiple charts for his catalog albums and his new release 'This Is It.' Michael Jackson's chart rankings are listed below.
Top Digital Album Artists – Michael Jackson - #1 Top Digital Albums – ‘The Essential Michael Jackson’ - #11 Top Pop Catalog Artists – Michael Jackson - # 1 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘Number Ones’ - #1 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘Thriller’ - #2 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘The Essential Michael Jackson’ - # 3 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘Off the Wall’ - # 5 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘Bad’ - #6 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘Dangerous’ - #11 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘The Ultimate Collection’ (Jackson 5) - #18 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘The Best of the Jackson 5’ - #35 Top Pop Catalog Albums – ‘Greatest Hits: History Volume 1’ #39
Billboard 200 Albums – ‘This Is It’ - # 43 Billboard 200 Artists – Michael Jackson - #32 Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums – ‘This Is It’ - #47 Hot Digital Songs Artists – Michael Jackson - #6 Hot Ringtone Artists – Michael Jackson - #10 European Top Albums – ‘King of Pop’ - #10 European Top Albums – ‘The Essential Michael Jackson’ - #31 European Top Albums – ‘The Collection’ - #34 European Top Albums – ‘This Is It’ - #47 European Top Albums – ‘Thriller’ #55 European Top Albums – ‘Number Ones’ - #77 Top Canadian Albums - ‘This Is It’ - # 30
Congratulations Michael for ruling the 70's, 80's 90's and 2000s POP/ROCK CHARTS! Genuine talent is TRULY EPIC and TIMELESS!
Due to Michael's phenomenal 2009 sales, Billboard was FORCED to change its hard-pressed rules not to include albums more than 5 years old to their chart rankings. Michael's sales made Billboard lose its credibility over other charts where Michael is topping since June 2009. Michael's NUMBER ONES ALBUM was released in 2005 and his other albums were released far earlier so they were not included in the Billboard charts until November 2009 when BB implemented their policy change which they refused to do since forever.

12. Amen. His singing was at its very best. This cd is an unknown masterpiece.. |
|
Hence MJ's anger at the way it was shunned by the critics when it was released. They just flat out lied.

18. I trust the readers more than the critics on this one. The critics had |
|
an anti-MJ agenda, and shot it down on that alone. If you haven't listened to the cd, what dog do you have in this fight? Want to know what readers who actually listened to the cd think, go to the 900 Amazon reviews from people who actually bought and listened to the CD. The concensus is that the CD is great and that the critics flat out lied about it.

Yeah. I'd like to "fail" like that.
