Singer Mary J. Blige punched her husband in the face at a nightclub |
|
a few nights ago and there is little to no outrage!!! The “No More Drama” songstress lashed out at hubby Kendu Isaacs at the Tuesday night party at the M2 Ultralounge in Chelsea, witnesses said.
One partygoer told the Daily News that the 38-year-old Grammy winner flew into a jealous rage because Isaacs was paying too much attention to a waitress at the club.
“Mary hauled off and smacked him,” the source said.
Blige then warned Isaacs not to even think about retaliating. “She said, ‘You ain’t going to go Chris Brown on me, are you?’” according to a source.http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2009/12/24/2009-12-24_dont_pull_a_chris_brown_stunt_blige_warns_hubby.htmlThere is still a big double standard when it comes to domestic violence against men!

1. Yet there's an amazing amount of attention paid to that "double standard" on DU. |
|
Perhaps you should start a thread about it!

21. Some of us don't think abuse in any form is acceptable and needs to be addressed. |
|
But obviously you are more than okay with it.

5. violence is never the right solution |
|
and most people here know that. Why bring in a war between the sexes? Seriously - i doubt most women here think that this was the correct thing to do.

It doesn't sound like they had a fight at all. It sounds like she smacked him on the arm and then made a joke.

8. And yet others say this didn't happen |
|
And I didn't hear reports of her husband being in the hospital with black eyes and bruises all over his face. Did I miss those?
Why do men insist on equating a slap on the arm to a man beating the shit out of a woman.

11. the law doesn't draw a distinction - and you have no idea what happened. |
|
Men are less willing to advertise that they "got beat up by a girl" than women are to say they got beaten by a man.

You should really be ashamed of yourself.
Many, many, many women do not report their abuse, you frickin numbskull.

The video of the incident does not show her punching him.

do have to say this about the problem of women beating men in general:
when I was practicing law, I had a male client come in who proceeded to show me marks and bruises all over his body that he suffered over several years from beatings by his wife. It was my first experience with this particular phenomenon and it stunned me.
Just when I thought he was finished showing me things, he would roll up his other pantsleg, or sleeve, for example, and show me another permanent scar or bruise. He was hit with hammers, irons, you name it. It was hard for me to believe but there it was. He was tall but very very skinny. His wife was big. The last time they went to court, she literally beat the crap out of him right outside the courthouse. Right after the hearing.
Your first reaction is to kind of laugh when a guy tells you his wife beats him, but as he kept showing me the scars I was quickly chastened and saw how serious this pehenomenon can be.
That's one client I will never ever forget.

that wives do when they catch their man oogling other women. Besides, if TMZ didn't report it, it's more than likely not the truth. :)
