Live Action Movie Review: Blindness |
|
Country of origin: Various (Original language is English)
Year: 2008
Genre: Drama?
Story: A mysterious and highly contagious disease, which only seems to cause blindness, spreads throughout the city. The victims of this disease are placed into an un-staffed, quarantined hospital. The story follows a woman who is immune to the disease, but chooses to go to the un-staffed, quarantined hospital in order to help her newly blind husband.
Acting: Good.
Humor: Not a lot of humor.
Violence: Blindness does not contain graphic violence, but the movie does have some disturbing scenes.
Sex: Some mild nudity. Some disturbing sexual situations, most of which is "off screen."
Overall: Interesting movie, my wife and I really enjoyed it. Exploitation, fear of contagion, compassion, brutality, charity, sacrifice, and extremely unsanitary bathrooms make for a great movie.

6. It's getting so a brain munching scene barely even registers anymore. |

5. I admit my version of "graphic violence" may be skewed; |
|
perhaps I should use the term, "grotesque violence," in the future.
