iTunes sells 10 billionth track

Johnny Cash's Guess Things Happen That Way has become the 10 billionth track to be sold at the ITunes online store.

Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling was officially named the site's most downloaded track, with their single Boom Boom Pow the third biggest seller. Lady Gaga's Poker Face took the number two slot, with hits Just Dance and Bad Romance also featuring in the top 25.

Louie Sulcer of Woodstock, Georgia bought the 10 billionth track winning a$10,000 (£6,500) iTunes gift card.

Flo Rida, Katy Perry and Rihanna are all credited with two tracks apiece in the top 25 most downloaded chart, with British artists Coldplay and Leona Lewis featuring in the top 10.

The article states that most songs used to sell at a standard price of 79p. (approx. US 1.20)

2. 10 billion x 99 cents = a hell of a lot of money. I am an Apple fan. I have had

Macs since 1986 because they are the best. But, what this shows is that the success of multinational corporations, whose roots and home are in the U.S., has nothing to do with the success of America and American workers. When the only thing that matters is profits for shareholders, there is no question that America and the American people are not a part of the equation. There is no clearer indication of how we Americans have been sold out by even the best of the capitalists and politicians. Capitalism can work, but does require a minimal amount of responsibility.

Jobs, as in Steven, has resurrected a company, but helped to destroy the American dream. How ironic that a guy named JOBS, a genius with great foresight, cannot see the effect he has had on JOBS in his native land.

7. iTunes was the beginning of Apple's rebirth, profit wise, but as it made more

and more money, not only with iTunes but with the success of iPods and greater Mac market share, it outsourced more and more production jobs for the cheap labor. I'm just saying it might have been nice to have created/kept more jobs here at home. Unfortunately, that's not the point of capitalism. I get that. But I also get that squeezing every last penny of profit is directly related to high unemployment. I guess I'm just disappointed in Apple, that they couldn't have utilized a little more balance.
