Live Action Movie Review - Fudoh: The New Generation |
|
Country of origin: Japan
Year: 1996
Genre: Yakuza
Story: Young Riki Fudoh witnesses his father kill Riki's older brother for a yakuza deal. Ten years later, Riki organizes teenagers and children to assassinate the various yakuza family elders.
Acting: Pretty good
Humor: There is some humor, but I am not sure if it is intentional humor. Some of the scenes are simply over the top and will probably make you laugh.
Violence: Lots of gun and sword violence, but only about two or three scenes are really bloody. There is no torture or prolonged suffering.
Sex: Some sex scenes and nudity.
Overall: Fudoh: The New Generation is definitely entertaining, as are all movies made by Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I2k4r9YAMg&feature=related">Izo), but you need to expect the ridiculous. Miike does not let realism, practicality, or logic get in the way of awesomeness.
