This elegant bracelet is hand-crafted from over 140 links of copper wire. Each link has an internal diameter of just 5/32", and the bracelet ends in an attractive lobster clasp. The permacolor wire is resistant to tarnish and will retain its warm color.

1. Do you have any hints on opening and closing a jump ring? I do it the way

they say to - by pulling them apart side to side but I was wondering if someone who does so many of them if you have a special way of working with them.

2. That's the only reliable way that I know of

I've heard that you can hasten the process by coiling two separate strands together at the same time, so that the coils sort of interweave together on the rod. Then, when you remove them, the links will already be opened. Sort of. In theory.


Like I said, manual opening/closing is the only reliable way I've heard of. Of course, there are machines that weave chainmail for butchers' gloves and shark-suits and the like, but that sounds like a hefty investment, given my modest sales volume!

3. I open the by bringing one side towards me

the other away from me. Do the reverse to close ;) Anyone into beading? I just started and have already spent a small fortune on Esty and Artbeads and have only made 2 bracelets. :silly: I feel I need all these things to get started.

6. Welcome to bead anonymous madmax. I'd say you need some tools

and basic things yes. You need crimp beads and beading wire and a closure just to make one bracelet right?

There are tons of tutorials at Fire Mountain Gems.

Good Luck with it. Go to a bead show that comes near your town and you will go nuts.
