Launching website - Translation, Transcription, Captions, Subtitles |
|
Hey everyone, just posting here that I'm starting a website to try to get more clients for Spanish/English translation (or other languages), transcription, captions, subtitles, and any other similar multimedia services people may need. Any advice is also appreciated. Times are tough economically and I don't have a lot of clients right now as a freelancer, so I'm trying to go it alone and see if I can start up a small business with literally zero startup capital. OK, not zero, I shelled out for a web hosting service.

Here's an SEO tip for you: Go to blogger.com and create a blog, with the same name as your website. Populate it with a few short articles, titling them with likely search phrases, and market your website on it, with links and marketing paragraphs at the end of each article. Since Google owns blogger.com, it ranks blogs hosted there very well. You'll get your blog on top of Google search results within about a week, instead of months of hard work on your site. The blog will also help move your website up in the search results.
Create a duplicate blog there in Spanish, too, and for the same reasons.
Just a suggestion, but it worked very well for my web content services and custom blogging businesses.

Make the website site bilingual. Showcase your skills by letting visitors switch languages for all pages.
I like the video, too, showing the captioning service. Very good.
I think you should be able to make a go of this, but it may not happen instantly. Just stick with it.

And thanks for the suggestions... that makes sense, of course Google's blogging platform would score higher on the ranking, if I was wearing my tinfoil hat, I could've thought of that myself. :tinfoilhat:
The translation is on the way, but I decided to go ahead and put it up anyway and sort of add things on as soon as they're ready.
