The title is "Inhuman Resources." It's a mystery set in Seattle about the murder of a homeless woman and is definitely not a random act of violence.
A review posted by a reader: Inhuman Resources (Piper Steele Mystery) is an amazing story that is compelling and compassionate at the same time. First, what struck me was the strength of the story's plot. The writing pulled me forward into the mystery story in such a compelling way that I read it in one sitting. At the same time, the characters' lives provided insights into the slippery slope of financial destitution and homelessness in a way that was both honest in its simplicity as well as dignified, and even loving--very refreshing compared to the usual pity-filled, preachy treatment of the subject.
Set in the Pacific Northwest, the author captured the "feel" of the place and people with delightful authenticity. People who live there will recognize it in the novel's ambience.
This is an author worth watching. She seems to have set this first novel up as the beginning of a series. I, for one, will be eagerly awaiting the first sequel and the continuing adventures of Piper Steele!

she may even have Kindle. I can't keep up with technology. If she does we can both read it.

11. It sounds really interesting but |
|
I don't have a Kindle. I tried looking for it at my local library to download to my computer to read but no dice. There is an older book by the same name and that's the only one I could locate.
Good luck to you. :hi:
