This is a federal government job just outside Washington, DC. We are looking for a communications specialist, someone who can write well, and summarize complex issues for various types of audiences.
I can vouch for this agency. I've worked here for 30 years (though not as a communications specialist). This will be an interesting and challenging job. We are involved in mapping/charting, hydrography, and marine safety. You don't need a background in this field to qualify for the job. Hint: don't sell yourself short. If you have experience in this field but are afraid it might not measure up to the writeup on the internet, apply anyway.
Pay and benefits are excellent (the cost of living in the Washington area is steep however), and it has promotion potential.
