Religious organizations in the USA asking their members to donate to deist organizations ... |

Has it ever happened? Might it happen?
Don't Mormons, Pentecostals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and others owe a debt of gratitude to the organizational efforts of deists who helped create, in the 1700s, a safe haven for alternatives to the various TC ("theologically correct") options of old Europe?
Perhaps we need a new term: LPTC (Legal-Political-Theological Correctness).
I suspect that, in trying to determine what is theologically correct for a given legal/political jurisdiction at a given time in world history, various legal and political issues (and not merely theological issues) will arise.

1. I think the deists have been thrown under the bus by most contemporary X-ian organizations |

Right-wing revisionist history states that all the Founding Fathers were bona fide Christians, of course, as its inconceivable they may have believed in a Creator without the Jesus juju to go along with it.
Of course, then there's fakers like Glenn Beck who pretend to be deists in public, as it wouldn't be politically correct to draw more attention to the seedier parts of his faith, like the "magic underwear" and "become-a-god-ruling-over-my-own-planet-when-I-die" memes.
