Childhood religious tradition vs. current one or lack thereof

Just an informal poll here. Something like over 40% of Americans have switched by the way.

I'm the second option (raised Catholic, now Protestant)

1. I don't have any religious affiliation and I was raised

to believe in G-d or a supreme being of some sort but not religion, the difference being one can believe in a creator or G-D but religion takes that belief a step further and claims to also know the wants, expectations, rules, rewards, punishments and so forth of that G-d or creator which IMO is something completely different from simple belief

6. Raised Southern Baptist.

7. Raised Shinto~Buddhist. (Jodo Shinshu)

But sort of half way practice. I don't go to a Buddhist temple anymore, but I still like reading and studying about Buddhism and especially, I am more interested in Shinto. Shinto was in Japan, long before Buddhism came, and I love the stories (Which many of you are reading now with my current postings) and the wonderful color around the traditions.

8. Raised Lutheran, became Episcopalian for cultural rather than theological reasons

The Lutherans became too suburban and family-oriented for my taste.

11. It's a bit complicated. Parents were divorced, their opinions changed over time.

Father was mainline Protestant turned atheist. Mother is caferteria Catholic, astrology follower, flavor of the month "spiritual." As a teenager she and my stepfather turned fundy Catholic when he went to AA. I was briefly a fundy Protestant, but could not get past the fact the Bible was wrong about creation. Slowly discarded that until I was an atheist. So, ultimately, I'm the same as my father, but not really because he retained that Protestant work/produce-'til-you-drop ethic and I don't.
