5. I'm gonna force my grandkids to watch that |
|
A couple of them are beginning to deal with reality but the others? I'm not sure there is any hope.

7. What really is comical is how much money this guy has made from |
|
his endless anti-religious and anti-Christian blather. What a bigot and hypocrite.

11. So a successful comedian who makes about 1/1000th of what Oprah has.. |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-06-11 09:55 AM by MarkCharles
made, and who has worked as hard as any successful American television entertainer and personality, is a "hypocrite" because of his financial success? Or he is a "hypocrite" because he detests the turning of Christmas into a materialist orgy, as Oprah has helped to do with that show?
Just exactly what makes Bill Maher a "hypocrite" when he speaks out and gives his opinions, just as Oprah can and so often did? They are BOTH successful people in the field of television entertainment, one is a lot MORE financiallysuccessful than the other, but the less financially successful is a hypocrite for speaking his mind?
I sometimes wonder why some religious folks get so offended by freedom of speech; so much so that they feel compelled to insult the person speaking freely.

You are wasting your time and effort on that one.

13. You're probably very right! I guess my overwhelming love of Bill Maher sent.. |

me over the deep end. Either my love for Maher, or my detestation of the commercialization of what is really an ancient pagan ritual stolen by Christians, then re-purposed by American capitalism so as to turn our children and adults into craving madmen and women, who trample on each other to be the first into a Walmart or Best Buy just a few hours after eating their turkeys.

15. Besides being a hypocrite, I also said the man is a bigot. |
|
He is a bigot because of his constant public trashing of other people's religious beliefs, and he is a hypocrite because he makes big bucks for doing it. That is not an affirmation of Oprah, nor of commercialism and greed. Regardless, he is a classic bigot, and radical atheists flock to him in droves just like Oprah's fans do to her.
"so offended by freedom of speech; so much so that they feel compelled to insult the person speaking freely." Don't make me laugh. That's how this idiot makes his living.

a teen/young adult I was too easily pleased. But life got terribly hard and I got out of practice of being grateful. It is now a regular part of my life again...only in a healthy way.
