Nice start for the Phillies' Cliff Lee... |
|
8 scoreless inning, 4 hits (all singles), 10 Ks... and he hit a home run. 2-1 win over the Dodgers. The Phillies are 36 games above .500 for the first time since 1977. This team is awesome.

1. Lee's pitching is getting to that high level of awesomeness again, yay! |

I wish they let him pitch the whole game, but they've been getting Lidge back into shape and I'm guessing they wanted to start getting Madson back in there.
Management seems to be timing things beautifully, mixing in second string guys just so, so they don't get rusty.

Maybe he could have finished if he was a dozen or so under after 8, but why risk it?

In the beginning of the season Lee was talking Manual into letting him stay in to finish, not always a good thing.
