Earned his 300th career Save last night. Only took him 16 years.
The Mets now have three current/former players who have earned their 300th career save as a Met - Izzy, Billy Wagner, and John Franco.

Because I remember him starting with the Mets back in the 90's. It's pretty amazing that he made his way back. Good for him.

was more of a favor from Terry Collins, because Terry wanted to let Izzy get to the 300 save milestone.
I think Parnell was the intended closer all along after they Mets gave away K-Rod.
