Wow! What a horrible sports day yesterday was.
I'm still proud of my Tigers and Wolverines.

2. You gotta be happy for the Rangers. Much better team than last year
I'm now in the Detroit area, so I try to be sympathetic to the fans I know. I predicted that it would be a good matchup, and I believe it was. The Tigers have a lot of talent on their roster, and will be a force to be reckoned with again next season.

However, after living in Texas temporarily for 24 years, I have to show a little loyalty to the Rangers, in spite of their ex-partial owner.

3. You got me beat by 5 years.
But since my father's family moved there in 1845, I consider myself an almost-native. I even lived in Arlington for four years.

But it took more than the Shrub leaving the Rangers for me to like them again. They had to rid themselves of Tom Hicks. He made Smirky McCokespoon a millionaire and ruined the whole salary structure of baseball. Without all that unearned money from Hicks, the Puppet Boy would not have been able to become governor then appointed president.

7. I'm hoping they'll win
if for no other reason than to comfort myself by saying the Tigers lost to the champs :)

5. Bad weekend, actually
Lions lost to the 'Niners and, most of all, Dan Wheldon's death.

6. Yep. Bad times topped off with an absolute nightmare.
I flipped on ABC and saw a car covered with a tarp and thought, Oh damn that isn't good. I didn't have the heart to watch the tribute laps after the announcement. Dunno how those drivers found the strength to climb back in their cars.
